The best restaurants in Salins-les-Bains and nearby...

Holidays and weekends in the countryside are no good without a good meal. Sometimes we choose a travel destination just for the food! If you’re looking for a slap-up meal, Jura’s got you covered. Not to brag, but this little corner of paradise welcomes its fair share of foodies, and it has some remarkable spots. At La Scierie, we can offer the comfiest rooms and a lip-smacking breakfast, but we don’t cook in the afternoons! In the evenings you can eat at the guesthouse, the choice is up to you: platters, jars, dinner (more details in our dedicated article). If you’d prefer to go out, why not visit Salins, Arbois or Port-Lesnay which are just a stone’s throw away - you won’t regret it!

Top restaurants in Salins

Le Thermal
A friendly brasserie with grilled food, pizza and Franche-Comté specialities. Always a lively spot. If you're lucky, there might be an evening concert when you visit.

Ciboulette & Compagnie
A gem for the afternoons, but it’s hidden away (46 rue de la Liberté). Here you’ll eat well, healthy and local. Veggie and non-veggie dishes - afternoons only!

Le Senso
The casino’s restaurant is a must-visit! On the menu: gastro-style cuisine, and the dinner shows are a treat for the eyes.

Le Petit Blanc
A beautiful vaulted dining room, Made in Jura specialities, friendly staff, just 2 minutes from La Scierie: what could be better!

Near Salins

Maison Jeunet
A spot with real star quality, located in Arbois. A little treat you’ll want to enjoy every evening...

La brasserie des Docks
Also in Arbois, a personal recommendation! A lovely contemporary dining room, just like the food: you’ll love it.

Les Caudalies
Great gastro cuisine, but that’s not its only draw: wine lovers assemble! Philippe Troussard, a prestigious ‘Meilleur Ouvrier de France’ Sommelier, will happily explain the importance of the Jura terroir.

Le Grapiot
In Pupillin, Samuel and Julie have surprised us more than once with their tasty, flavourful and innovative food. We also love their little wine-making village!

Our top picks?

Le Bistronome
Next to the Cuisance river in central Arbois, Lisa and Jérôme have taken over this lovely spot after a few years at Maison Jeunet. A very attractive menu, attentive staff, you’ll definitely be won over!

Le Bistro de Port-Lesnay
A must-visit restaurant: a retro feel, top service and on the menu... a real treat! From starter to dessert, everything is homemade and seasonal, cooked to order. Sheer pleasure...
