A colossal building. A lively park. La Scierie is a place to remember.

OLD SAWMILL. NEW ARCHITECTURE.

CHASSIS & WOODEN WHEELS

But also machines, metal structures and lots of logs: this is a former sawmill. So much for space, volume and character.

IN THE MIDDLE FLOWS A CANAL

It crosses the entire building. At the top, you walk on glass. To walk 6 meters above the water is unusual. By all accounts, it's quite an experience.

AH & OH

Always, in front of this majestic staircase and this large polychrome painting. We're delighted to have been able to build one and have the other created (it wasn't easy, we'll tell you).

Wood. And as many original materials as possible.

The framework? Redone identically in Haut Jura fir. Entrance beams? Original. That big counter at the entrance? We built it with our own hands, using wood left over from the sawmill. Oak, walnut, fir, ash: you'll see, here, local wood species share the limelight with metal.

The real secrets of a good weekend.

Spa, sauna and one last pool table before going upstairs? Here's what's waiting for you at La Scierie.

BEHIND IT ALL

A huge technical challenge

3 permit refusals. Feverish sections of wall. An entire framework to be redone. Fortunately, Mathieu had done his apprenticeship as a mason.
